On Friday 6th June I will be taking part in EXIST’s programme of Friday nights @ Metro Arts, by presenting Secrete Success; a durational performance work, exploring success as the cage we find ourselves in. Is failure the key, or just a rusty razor blade? How badly do you crave it? You can’t fail to notice that it drives you. Can you? Can you see it? Can you taste it? Come, break bread with us.
Next door - or at least near by, a frequent collaborator and sublime individual, Eleanor Jackson will be presenting an interactive poetic work entitled Now You See Me, which I will be gutted to miss.
If you would like to see either of these development experiments in performance, we would love to see you - Level 3, Metro Arts, 109 Edward St.
A lo-fi recording from a new dark ambient/drone project between Tessa Fox and myself.
Currently seeking a name for doom, drone, ambient bm project… so search for translated words around various Tibetan religious fetish objects….while simultaneously feeling conflicted about the appropriation and fetishisation of a perceived cultural ’other’….conclude that this is a much wider and ongoing guilt ridden conversation that will cause creative stagnation…..
Search for ‘tibetan ritual (human) skull cup’ and raise the word Kapala…..think; ‘Well, the name seems to encompass the symbolism somehow, but like every word ever, this is probably already used by some random band, somewhere’…..then discover this is not only true, but that said band also self diagnose as ‘drone, noise & psych’…..
Then witness momentary disappointment turn to mourn filled sonic bliss and forget momentarily about all words, ever.
